white space usage

White space has become a wide-spread and common element amoung website designers and developers. These days, there is almost a certain "mystacism" around white space. White space has transitioned along with the popular thought that more white space is better for websites.

Here are several reasons why white space has besome so intergral now to a website's design and construction.

  1. White space opens up the visual court for all of those things "you don't need to say."
  2. Adds a visual medium in content to site images, copy, and other assets.
  3. Conveys a feeling of comfort and confidence in one's self or business.
  4. It's easy on the eye.
  5. It provides for quick scanning of needed information.
  6. Allows for easier access to massive amounts of information, particularily sites which tend to be heavily content driven and/or text functional
